Tallowdale's Twilight Concert: Featured Artist, Carol Irving

Introducing Carol Irving, clarinet player for the upcoming Tallowdale Music Twilight Concert

Carol Irving ClarinetCarol Irving studied clarinet and saxophone under the late Kevin Murphy at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education in 1990. She has taught Music in Sydney, Forster and Port Macquarie schools, and is in demand as a woodwind, theory and HSC Music teacher and accompanist. Her students score consistently highly in exams, with several students being nominated for and performing in Encore!, going on to tertiary study and having successful careers as composers, performers and music teachers. Carol is an experienced Eisteddfod adjudicator and HSC examiner and is currently leading music programs in Port Macquarie primary schools, lecturing at Charles Sturt University and teaching in her busy studio.

As a performer Carol has been involved in many musical groups, concerts and events in the region, including the Port Macquarie Hastings Municipal Band, Sinfonia, productions with Taree Arts Council and the Players Theatre, the City Of The Arts Ensemble, Hastings Chamber Ensemble, the Port Macquarie Music Eisteddfod, Big Band Blast, Black Satin Swing Band and Jordan Jive. Recently Carol has performed in big bands with James Morrison, Adrian Cunningham and at Jazz in the Vines with John Morrison's Heavy Metal Jazz Orchestra.
